Qualities of a Superior Mindset

The Superior Mindset Has A Solid Intent

A solid intent is a clear direction in which the mind is moving in. The mind is clear that it is moving in a certain direction, and your thoughts, actions and focus is reinforcing that direction continuously. A solid intent also means that you have made a permanent decision to move your life in a certain trajectory, and you aren’t going to change that ever. The solid intent is your permanent commitment to achieve the goals you have set yourself once and for all.

The Superior Mindset Is Strong

A strong mindset is one in which your mind is totally clear, focused and alert. It is a mind which is in the zone and living fully in the moment of the now. This mindset will increase in strength regularly and allow you to form an even greater connection to your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the seat of your super conscious power and creating a greater connection to this through the strength of your mind will increase the level of your success easily.

The Superior Mindset Is Always Figuring It Out

People who do not enquire as to why things are the way they are, are not superior minds. The superior mind aims to figure out why things are a certain way and then aims to bring the positive aspects of these things greater into their life. You should always be inquisitive and enquiring. You should attempt to figure things out yourself, and also seek out knowledge from external sources. That way, you are growing in understanding of yourself constantly. It is this constant and increasing understanding of yourself which will allow you to succeed more and more over time.

The Superior Mindset Has Magnetic Thoughts

Magnetic thoughts are fundamental to success, and you must make the steps to ensure that the magnetism of your mind is maintained as much as possible. When the mind is highly magnetic, you can move towards success extremely easily. The trick here is to form a system of habits so that the magnetism of the mind is maintained as easily as possible. So long as your thoughts are highly magnetic, you will move towards what you want with increasing ease and sophistication.

The Right Mindset Equals Entrepreneur

When you are looking to become an entrepreneur and facing new challenges whether it be internet marketing or starting a home based internet business, there is a learning curve. Before commencing any new venture you must first go through the process of gathering all the information required. This is particularly so for the internet marketing arena. The internet is changing everyday and so new skills are required to keep up with the fast pace and the ever changing technology. As a newbie to this arena it can be daunting and you can get very overwhelmed quickly.

Have you heard the saying “you can do anything you put your mind to”? This statement has been overused too much and people have stopped believing it or say “yeah yeah I know that” and dismiss it. But the fact of the matter is it is true. The way you think and feel are a necessary component in your success. Believing in your ability, having a can do attitude and taking action on new skills learned is a must.

For most of us “stepping outside the box or comfort zone” can seem daunting. Many people are scared of changing their current situations for fear of failure, not being good enough, losing everything, and so on. If you are one of these people you need to stop, take a deep breath reassess your goals in life and create new habits. Only then can you change the path you are on. For example so many people want to lose weight, only to complain about it to everyone else. You need to change your focus and create new habits such as going for a walk or joining a gym. Losing weight takes time and people are so eager to see immediate results that they get discouraged and throw in the towel.

Why is it that some of us are already defeated before we get started? You have to believe in yourself and your ability. This is the first key in changing your mindset. Many of us are influenced by the people in our lives, who make excuses as to why they haven’t taken any chances in their life. You need to surround yourself with highly motivated successful people and learn from them. Remain focused on the bigger picture. Read books, learn how to change your mindset and become highly focused. Challenge yourself, take baby steps at first. You will grow and reap the rewards in all areas of your life both personally and professionally.

In Napoleon Hill’s book “Think and Grow Rich” he says “Mind control is the result of self discipline and habit. You either control your mind or it controls you. There is no half way compromise. The most practical of all methods of controlling the mind is the habit of keeping it busy with a definitive purpose, backed by a definitive plan…without this control, success is not possible”.

Having an entrepreneurial mindset is to know where you are going, never giving up, having a greater purpose and living life on your terms. Isn’t that what we all want in the end?

Establish the Right Mindset For Your Success

If Mindset is not “everything” … it is close to it. To paraphrase Jeffery Combs, mindset can keep you in the game, and mindset can take you out of the game. Quite simply, as a business entrepreneur, you have to immerse yourself in the right mindset or you can close your doors now and quickly run back to working for someone else. Learned by experience, here are the top three key elements that I now take very seriously for my business success.

Deliver the Value – Listening to a marketer who has no value to offer is like … You know, it is like … Well, you know; nothing. If you don’t have real value to offer why are you marketing? Better yet, WHAT are you marketing? I would rather a marketer keep his mouth shut and have people wonder if he has any value to offer, than opening his mouth and removing all doubt.

Quickly-emerging social sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are great venues for offering value outside of your back-end product. These no-cost online sites allow you to reach out to people from over 100 English-speaking countries. And if your message is in other languages … well, just think of the potential market. Take full advantage of these resources and actively participate. Deliver value, and value will be delivered back to you.

Separate the Concerns – I know a few entrepreneurs who are victims of their own home marketing business. The key word here (no pun intended) is “home”. Failing to establish boundaries between home life and work life, they are robbed of focus in their entire life. Sound too strong? Fine. Do it the other way and see how well that works for you. And see how long your loved-ones tolerate being robbed of your focus when you are with them. “Be here, or be elsewhere!”

The most successful marketing experts that I know have very carefully established boundaries between business and personal life. And all the others should too. Ever been to an industry conference and seen a marketer who is constantly on the phone/laptop while the spouse/partner is lost/lonely? It is almost too painful to watch. And on the other hand you see a couple who stays tuned into one another though there are 300 phone messages and 3000 emails waiting. Go ahead and guess which marketer has the most sustainable lifestyle…

Maintain the Expertise – Closely related to delivering value is the need to continually increase your value. Trust me; value deteriorates with time. A 25-year stint in the high-tech corporate world taught this marketer that the shifting environment can make you obsolete in a heartbeat. I watched it happen to others and I felt it happen to me. Technology evolves at the speed of Moore’s Law (No, I am not related to Gordon … though at one time in my life I dreamed of finding a genealogical link to his net worth). Teams evolve at the speed of aging, with each team member changing as their personal lives change. And societies change even more quickly. Like Brownian motion.

Adapt or die. Take a lesson from the dinosaurs: those that didn’t adapt to the changing environment contributed to it by becoming either food or fertilizer. The choice is yours.

So there you go – the top three elements of my business that I pay serious attention to: delivering value, maintaining focus and building expertise. Now go do likewise.

Why You Need a Success Mindset

When you believe in yourself, have self confidence and take daily action, you will have the key ingredients to possessing a success mindset. This success mindset strengthens your tenacity, your commitment and determination to achieve your aspirations in life.

If you don’t possess the success mindset, when you are faced with a challenge or a problem, even a small one, you will shy away from it, set it aside for a later day, or totally give on what you were pursuing.

By believing in yourself and having a success mindset, you will overcome any challenges, setbacks and progress on from any failures – I believe failures are successes in disguise – so along as you make it a genuine point to learn from your failures.

In order to succeed in any area in your life, you must have that belief that you are a success. Any blocks, or limiting beliefs, the “Oh yeah sure…” need to be dealt with; weakened and eliminated, then, in their place, you programme enhancing, empowering beliefs, those that are in line with your desires , aspirations or objectives.

How can you do that?

One method is to get yourself a journal, divide one page of that journal into two columns. In one column jot down what your associations with, say money are. For example, money is hard to get, money is not important to me, money is only for the rich, and so on.

In the other column, write down the opposite of each of your limiting beliefs. Using the beliefs above, money comes to me easily and effortlessly, money is important to me, there is plenty of money for everyone including me, and so on.

Set the empowering beliefs as affirmations that you can say out loud (where possible, and in front of a mirror). Select 2 or 3 affirmations at a time and repeat them as often as you can upon awakening (while shaving, brushing your teeth, in the shower, driving to work) and just before bedtime and as you lay in bed; let the final thoughts as you drift off to sleep be your affirmations.

In due course, you will have weeded out the limiting beliefs and will have instilled your empowering ones, and will have started your journey to having a success mindset.

Keep it up!

Burn Fat – The Burn Fat Mindset

Let’s Burn Fat! But wait, we need to do this right.

Anyone can lose weight if the put their mind to it. Burn more calories than you consume, get more exercise. Keeping it off is the major problem. This is where the proper mindset comes in.

The term “diet” itself creates a faulty mindset. It is a phase, something you do and once you reach your target weight, you don’t do it anymore. What is required to burn fat then maintain at that level is a lifelong change in dietary and exercise habits. Proper nutrition goes a lot deeper than just weight loss. It affects your general health and well-being, energy level, and resistance to disease. Once you have adopted a healthy dietary regimen in order to feel better, weight loss will come with the package.

So if it’s as easy to lose weight as described above, why should you obtain information from an expert in the field? Because you don’t want to just lose weight, you want to do it in a way that improves your health, instead of harming it. Here is a short list of the things you need to know about:

Weight Loss is not exactly the same thing as Fat Loss. In fact, there’s a huge and very important difference.Good foods and bad foods – Foods you should eat, foods that you should only eat occasionally, foods you should never eat;
Micronutrient ratios – The percentage of each meal that consists of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats;
Good fats and bad fats;
How to determine the right caloric intake for your body, in order to burn fat at a healthy rate;
Why starving to lose weight is a very bad idea;
Why an occasional “cheat meal” can be a good thing.
There is much more, these are just a few reasons why you need to be informed before you dive off into the world of weight loss!

Any good book on the subjects of weight loss and burning fat will start off with a chapter on the proper mindset required for the project. There is good reason for that. Learning to change your eating habits is not an easy thing. You have been trained from birth to eat a certain way, so making major changes in a lifelong regimen takes commitment and dedication to goals.

If you are a young person, this is a good reason to learn how to eat healthy now, so you can start your children off right. Our parents and grandparents didn’t know any better, but you don’t have that excuse. Modern technology has put the information at your fingertips!

Coming in the next few days: Burn Fat – Weight Loss VS Fat Loss

Judson Lassiter is a student of modern fat burning programs and is successfully losing weight using Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle system. You can get more information and links to free reports at:

The Business Networking Mindset

Business networking is basically the practice of individuals being able to interact with possible business prospects. In today’s day and age, business networking is seen as the growing element in order to reach out to a wider audience. All in the hope of maximizing client potential, this in result would be more business. The key behind getting rich was once stated by a famous tycoon Robert Kiyosaki who stated that the key behind getting rich is creating a strong and successful network. It’s who knows you, and not just who you know.

Any business man has to understand the important and benefits that can be achieved from creating a business network. And aim to create a large and strong network of contacts for his/her business to succeed. Below I have looked at some key mindsets that any business networking individual should keep in mind:

Your initial aim should be to give first and expecting that gain will eventually come. Give something first to your possible clients in order to get on their good side or as referred to in business terms collecting “karma points”. Establish a truce of commitment, trust and reliability and make sure you are able to express this in both verbal and practical terms before moving forward. The key behind any business is to gain a profit. No business will be willing for you to be the “winner” and them to be the “looser” during a business deal; more commonly known as win-loss. You should be looking for a win-win scenario where both you and your client are able to gain maximum results from one decision. It simply levels the platforms for moving forward at a smoother and quicker pace.

It is equally as possible to keep a balance when communicating amongst one another and going towards the deal. You have to have “light feet” and create a decent link before you move on to close a deal. It’s the same principal for water pipes. Unless you don’t connect the pipes together, the water won’t be able to flow to its destination. Same principal here, only difference its business.

From a business networking point of view, you have to make sure you are open minded and able to take on new ideasand adapt accordingly. You can not expect your ideas to be presented to your client and accepted with no concerns. Every business deal that happens will always consist of negotiation that may require you to deviate slightly from your initial plan in hopes of achieving the goal for both parties.

You want to be an enjoyable person to talk to. You want your personality to shine through to possible business prospects giving them a feel to “want” to come and talk to you rather than being forced or dragged in due to the nature of the event. Always keep in mind that deals are more imminent where one can relate to the other with relative ease.

If there are areas that you can not handle in a business proposition but know someone else that can, introduce them. Help in assisting others by solving their issues. Where you will help someone they in return will help you. As Zig Ziglar said:”Help Enough People Succeed and You Will Succeed”. Don’t be self obsessed and only move your hand forward when the benefit is directly in your favor. You won’t get very far that way.

Brendan Yong is passionate about business networking, and has been in leadership roles to develop business networking skill into a fine art. He served 3 Leadership terms in BNI Renaissance, and was instrumental in making the BNI Chapter the largest in the region.

Food For Thought – The Right Mindset

Most of us do not have a weight problem! You probably think: “What…? I am fat, I can see it, everyone else can see it, and how can I not have a weight problem?” Well, let me explain, we have a self-care problem which manifests through our weight. In other words, our mind is more the problem than the actual body or weight gain.

We have to change our mindset, get the right mindset.  You and I are not alone; every person that is overweight has suffered from emotional eating at some point.  Recurring weight issues are seldom about an insatiable appetite, but more about an emotional need.  Most of us suffer from psychological issues of some sort, which still affects us and causes us to fill the void with food.

Treating food as a crutch is what most of us do, so the first step in maintaining a healthy weight is to treat food as sustenance rather than a crutch.  By forming a trusting partnership with your feelings, emotions and true desires, you are freeing yourself of emotional eating.  Also to understand the difference between cautious eating and obsessing about food is equally important.  The difference between cautious eating and obsessive eating is this; cautious eating is the awareness when health is your ultimate goal, whereas obsessive eating is when weight loss is your only goal.

It is good to be discerning, but allowing yourself the occasional treat will keep you more motivated than if you obsess about every calorie.  When you learn to be healthy 80% of the time you are more likely to succeed with your weight goal.  Teach yourself to make simple substitutions that will still keep you satisfied and keep you succeeding months on end.

Another crucial aspect to consider is accepting yourself as less than perfect, especially when it comes to your weight. One of the most dangerous, yet very sadly common things is linking self-esteem to what the scale says.  We must never forget that our weight is not totally under our control, for example genetics, hormones and age can all play a role in our weight.

Rather try and channel your efforts into things you can control, such as exercising and eating as healthy as you can. When you go through cycles of weight loss and gain, a common trap to avoid would be absolute rigidity, and also inconsistency.  Reverting back to your old eating pattern after a period of deprivation will cause your to regain the weight, and ever more of it, and this is the crux of yo-yo dieting.

Also something that is not ideal at all, is focusing on weight loss for a special occasion, like a wedding or function. Focus on healthy and consistent eating only, then individual occasions are less likely to be an issue.

But why do we find ourselves habitually slipping into this pattern?  A core consideration is the beliefs we hold about ourselves, food, weight and our ability to follow through on decisions.  These beliefs we have stem from past experiences and how we are brought up, hence we run the risk of repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

Working through emotional baggage should be our most important long-term goal, but knowledge of the food groups, calories and food labels also play a major key role. Very poor self-discipline also play a major role, and no accountability for what we chose to eat or how we chose to feel because we don’t understand why we are gaining little by little each and every month, no matter how hard we seem to try.

Our ideal healthy weight starts with the right attitude and mindset.

Mindset and Your Home Business

If you are thinking about starting your own home-based business, you’re mindset is going to play an important role as to whether you build a truly successful business, or not. It has been quoted that “whether you believe you can, or you can’t do something – you are right!” If you are starting out with a belief that you will probably fail because that has been your experience in the past – then guess what? – you will more than likely fail or at least your results will be less than desirable.

So how do we change this underlying negative belief system to make it possible for us to succeed beyond our expectations? Many will say that “positive thinking is the answer” and whilst there is a degree of truth in this statement, it is very difficult for us to “positive think” our way out of a lifetime of limiting beliefs that have been embedded within our subconscious minds, ever since we were children. From the time we were born until the age of 7 years of age, our minds are still in the process of developing a critical facility and so our subconscious minds are wide open to suggestions from all of the adult or older influences that surround us. If a child is repeatedly told that he/she is stupid, then the subconscious mind will accept this negative suggestion and it becomes a belief. Even when reaching adulthood, this underlying negative belief will tend to control our behaviour, responses and perceptions of the world around us until that negative suggestion is removed and replaced with a more appropriate positive suggestion.

Some will give huge credit to “willpower” as being the answer, however – when the will and the imagination are in conflict – it is the imagination that will win the battle every time. When the imagination and the will are in agreement, the results are multiplied.

So how to we tap into the subconscious mind to create lasting change? Positive affirmations can be used over time to change a limiting belief, however this does take a lot more time than other methods such as self hypnosis.

To create lasting change, it is necessary to firstly identify a limiting belief, such as (I don’t deserve to be successful) and then create a postive statement which is “emotionally charged” and always in the present tense such as, (I am successful, I deserve success and it feels wonderful as I continue to create success in every area of my life). This can be used as an affirmation, and repeated many times a day over 2 – 3 months an beyond.

If you choose to learn self hypnosis, you will be accessing your subconscious mind directly and in doing so, shortening the time it takes to notice positive changes in your life. Whilst in the state of Hypnosis, your conscious critical mind is subdued and the powerful subconscious mind is much more accessible.

The best way to learn self hypnosis is to make an appointment with a qualified Hypnotherapist so that you can experience the hypnotic trance state. Most hypnotherapists will be able to teach you self hypnosis so that you can easily access the state, and then apply what we refer to as auto- suggestion. Even if you are learning self hypnosis from a book, it would be beneficial to visit a qualified Hypnotherapist at least one time to help you understand the experience and to be able to identify the hypnotic trance state.

Long Live the “Soft Stuff”: Skipping “Business as Usual” to Ignite Purpose and Optimize Mindset in Today’s Economy

We are in the midst of an exciting, nerve racking and pivotal time right now. I see this in the economy, in business, in leadership, in politics, in families, and in peoples’ senses of purpose and personal values. There’s a lot happening. On one hand I notice a lot of complaining, blaming, making excuses, and fear. And on the other hand, I see a lot of positive and productive percolation, reflection, and action. I notice a lot of dismissing “hype” and inauthenticity, and instead, see people really looking at what matters, what’s real and what’s the bigger purpose – in business and in life. And I feel the buzz. Can you feel it?

I see it as a real opportunity right now. 2010 has been referred to as the year of “making it or breaking it” – meaning it’s the year to DECIDE what will happen for each of us. Do we “give in” and succumb to “more challenging times,” do we get sucked in to “story”, do we blend in, go “beige”? OR do we get into action, ask different questions, work our mindsets and create a new way of “being” in business, a new way of engaging with people, and a new level of energy and success? It’s a decision point year. How and what are you deciding?

Using 3 very different and specific examples of people choosing how to move through their lives and businesses right now, I’ve written an article sharing 3 things to help you explore these questions and your own situation in order to help move your mindset and your organization in the right direction.

A while back, on a flight between New York and Chicago, I sat next to a gentleman who had worked for a major financial firm on Wall Street, and was now unemployed and exploring options. While talking to this gentleman, I was moved by his attitude. He saw this “horrible” situation, which was stressful and would likely have a significant impact on his family (including a possible relocation), as an opportunity to stop, breathe, reassess, and reinvigorate. He said, “I was so caught up in all of this for so many years, in many ways I lost view of what was most important and what I really wanted. I got sucked into the machine. Although I’m scared, I’m secretly excited by what lies ahead. I feel I have a new beginning.” That’s quite a mindset.

Another one of my clients, a senior leader in her organization, recently shared that this is one of the most stressful periods her company has ever known; business is slower, revenues are lower, stress is high. But in many ways, it has also been one of the most rewarding and bonding times, despite layoffs and cuts in spending. How is this possible?

First, she is keenly aware of her mindset and her impact on her team, and does her best to use it all in supportive and productive ways. She and her team proactively seek ways to learn and connect as well as to be more efficient, competitive, and just better. Finally, they’ve made use of their extra time by nurturing customer relationships and taking more personal time for themselves (that they can’t get as easily when they’re really busy.) The result? A more focused and bonded team, a higher and more “awake” level of creativity, recharged employees, advanced solutions for customers, and a higher level of hunger, satisfaction, joy, and appreciation for closing deals and connecting with customers. Once again, a matter of mindset.

Oddly, as I write this article, and prepare to share more examples from clients’ stories, sitting in the car dealership waiting for my brakes to be fixed, I meet Adam, a gentleman back from his second tour in Iraq. Talking to him for over an hour, I discover that what has gotten him through one of the most challenging, horrible, and, unimaginable to many, things a person could ever endure, seems to be, mindset and purpose. Our conversation goes without agenda and by the time his car is ready, I’ve learned new things about his mindset, the mindset of people who meet him (myself included) and what they make up about his experience, as well as what makes him and his fellow troopers feel good and appreciated. Learning a lot about his experience, and more than I’d ever want to know about Camel Spiders (although I couldn’t stop myself from asking or pulling up a picture – which I’ve opted NOT to include here), I get in touch with an even deeper level of awareness for myself that puts me back in touch with the importance of purpose, gratitude, and mindset. (And, of course quickly have to restrain myself from tripling the size of this article.)

These first two scenarios, and the unexpected third, are real examples of people dealing with the stress of business, life, war, the economy, and all things human. How are they doing it? Shared themes are: mindset, gratitude, forward thinking, connection, purpose, and “hunger.” And it’s inspiring, moving, and provocative all at the same time. What a gift.

What I notice with all of these is that it’s the “softer” stuff, the less tangible stuff, that is making better results possible and getting people through their challenges. Gratitude, connection, purpose, mindset, attitude, positive energy, and a “hunger” to be a part of, and make an impact, on something that is even bigger than us…It works, and it offers us an even more powerful and new way of thinking about business and leadership. (I’m waving my “soft stuff” flag over here – can you feel it?) Yes, of course you need the action and the strategic plans and the numbers to work, AND, you need the soft stuff too…now…I’d argue…more than ever.

What are you (and your team, family, children, partners, etc.) doing right now to “work your mindset” and create opportunity in our current economic, political, and business environment? How are you contributing to “helping things go better?” Is your mindset supporting progress, or slowing it down? The opportunities truly are limitless here and do not just come in the form of increasing revenues or productivity, but rather in other meaningful ways such as bonding with and strengthening teams and relationships, igniting higher purpose, connecting with customers, spending more time with family, taking a physical and mental pause to truly check in with yourself, and acknowledging the gifts in all of it.

What’s the first step to doing all this? Decide. Decide to make it work for you. Decide that you want it to be different (of course, only if you do). Get your mindset in order. Tap into your sense of purpose. Connect with your gratitude. Get hungry and go.

Proper Mindset and Weight Loss

All weight loss methods and programs require a lot of resisting urges, motivating oneself to work out, to eat right, or simply to do the right thing. However, did it ever occur to you that they are not exactly the most important things? Or that perhaps, there’s a better way to start a fat loss regime? In this article, you will learn about an equally important factor when it comes to losing weight: having the right mindset.

Many people fail to realize that the easiest and simplest technique to lose weight is not really supposed to come from one specific exercise routine or a particular diet. It actually comes from a positive attitude. A proper frame of mind can lead you to a life-changing event. In fact, when this happens, losing weight may come naturally.

The very first thing to do in order to create the right weight loss mindset is to muster the strong desire to succeed. Obviously, desire is what urges us to do something. It is the threshold of the growth process. If you don’t have it, then you probably wouldn’t go anywhere.

Now, to spark your desire, it would help to know and decide what you want to achieve. Whether it is to lose five pounds or 30, you need to make up your mind. On a piece of paper, make a list of why you wish to lose such weight. Seeing the reasons right in front of you can greatly help in keeping your motivated and focused. This is especially true when the time gets rough.

After sparking that desire and knowing what you want to achieve, commit yourself to reaching the goal. Make a solemn promise that you will work as hard as you can. If you are better off working with someone, look for a partner who’s as interested in losing weight and who may just be looking for a partner like you too. A partner can serve two excellent purposes: he or she can support you and he or she can challenge you. Either way, your partner can play a crucial role in motivating you throughout the pursuit. Of course, you play the same crucial role in his or her challenge.

Now, it is expected that during the course of your weight loss regime, you will experience getting off the track every now and then. When this happens, you should never ever beat yourself up. Remind yourself that everyone goes astray and that the solution is to get over it and move on. The scale may not be showing the numbers you want to see, but hey, you are currently working to change them! Give yourself time. No reason to be hard on yourself.

Finally, you should always be realistic and flexible with your weight loss goals. Time is not going to slow down or fasten up for you. When things don’t go according to plan, make the necessary adjustments and remain focused on your goals. Don’t let small mishaps and failures discourage you.
