Inner Peace – How to Stay Positive When Dealing With Negative People

You may have limited control over your circumstance but you can have total control over your emotional response to your circumstance. In this article you are going to learn two things that you can do to have total control over your emotions and have a positive response in a negative situation every time. The two steps are 1) Identify your triggers and 2) Replace your negative thoughts with positive actions.

Step #1: Identify Your Triggers

1. Keep a journal of all of the things that ticks you off for a week

2. Each time that you are ticked off, ask yourself “Why do I react negatively to this situation?” “What is it about this particular situation that gets to me in this way?”Write down your thoughts in numerical sequence in your journal.

3. At the end of the week, review your journal and identify what you were thinking each time that you felt ticked off.

Step #2: Replace Negative Thoughts with Positive Action

1. Now that you are able to identify the reasons why certain people and situations ticks you off, your next step is to write out several positive ways that you can respond to each of the items that you listed in your journal that ticks you off.

2. Practice role-playing with a partner. Pretend that you are in a particular situations or you are in the presence of the type of person that ticks you off.

3. You should practice until you are comfortable responding positively to the negative situation so that when you encounter a negative situation you are not triggered to respond with negative actions.

The way that you are going to maintain a state of inner peace is by not being stressed out. You have to learn how to be positive and stay calm in situations that are negative. At the end of this exercise, you will be able to take positive actions the next time that you encounter negative people and negative situation because you will not be taken off guard. You will not respond based on your emotional state at the time of the negative event because you will be prepared to recognize your triggers and you will be well rehearsed on how to take positive actions when you are faced in your trigger situations.

How to Be Positive – Stay Away From Negative People

Today is a good reflection of how far I have come from negative thinking to positive thinking and positive actions. I was coaching a client who is processing her breakdowns in a stuck state, the feeling of confusion whether the forward actions is going to create the result she wanted. It reminded me of how I got a Life Coach to work with me and experience being positive most of the time.

Stay away from negative people

Don’t make the mistake of talking to the wrong people. People who are negative. Either they have had bad experiences because of lack of knowledge or strategies or they have no clarity of their own direction. They do not have positive experiences to share with you. Stay away from them.

The solution is to talk to people who are already successful in doing what you wanted to do. Model after them. Get them to mentor you, or collaborate with them. They will have many success stories to share with you. That would give you more confidence, support and encouragements to move forward.

Get a Life Coach

There is a great difference with talking to a Life Coach or your friend. The positive thinking and the positive energy from a Coach is uplifting. Most of my clients said, I wish the people out there could be as positive as you. The way they talked are “noise” that often held them back from the decision that they want to make. As a result, they become indecisive. It’s through some powerful questions that clients become clear with their thoughts. When clients are sure of what making that decision would give them, e.g. More confidence, more time to have a balance life, better relationships with family and more income, they are open to taking positive actions.

“Noise” are unfounded fears from people who may mean well, thinking that they are protecting you; But they do not know what you really want. It’s based on their own pattern of thinking and their own fear which is projected onto you and is quite often negative. Unknowingly, they operate from fear.

How a Life Coach can help

A Life Coach can certainly help you with the breakthrough from thinking negatively to thinking positively and taking actions that move you towards achieving the outcome you want. This is the support and encouragements that most people need, to have a breakthrough. The positive energy is automatically transferred to you. The confidence is projected onto you. These comes from having experienced that journey.

Focus on Positive Thinking – Turning Negative Statements Into Positive Statements

The Universe delivers what you ask for. And you ask for these things via your thoughts. So, suffice it to say, if you are thinking negatively, the Universe is going to deliver negative things. Don’t you think it’s about time to start changing your thinking patterns right now?

You might say that’s easier said than done. Well, I am here to help you gain a better perspective. It’s easier to do thank you think.

We are trained from a young age to think things are hard and that to get anything and anywhere in life, you have to work hard at it. While in a sense that can be true, but it’s not entirely true. Things only have to be hard if you make them hard. If you think that it takes hard work, then it WILL take hard work. Have you ever noticed people who things just come easily to? Guess what? They don’t have the thought that things need to be hard in order to achieve results. They think thoughts that things are easy to do.

It’s interesting how some people can pick up skills very easily, and others can’t seem to put two and two together in the same skill. Take me for example. I am a natural computer user. I have no fear of the computer. Computers come very easily to me. I am pretty much self-taught on computers. From formatting Word and Excel documents, to playing online computer games, to hand-coding HTML, it all comes very easy and natural to me. And I’m not even entirely sure why. It just does. And I embrace that. To me, my thoughts are computers are easy, they are natural, and they are nothing to be afraid of. Others who can’t seem to pick up computer skills to save their lives have thoughts of computers are hard, difficult, and unfriendly. So, naturally, the Universe is going to deliver to them, a hard time grasping those computer skills.

Now let’s talk next about turning negative thinking or statements into positive thinking or statements. Many people think that they are thinking positively, but they aren’t. And let me share with you why they are not really thinking positively. They make one big mistake. They follow up their thought or statement with a caveat, or a negative twist. Something like, “I feel great… I am in no pain”. Well, guess what, there’s that negative – there’s that “pain” that they thought they were getting rid of.

So, let’s do a little footwork to try to learn how to turn negative statements into positive statements. We need to totally get rid of the negative and keep it completely positive. Let’s start with some examples.

Say someone has a blood clot, or they have heart problems (blocked or clogged arteries). Instead of saying “I want to be free from any blockages or clogging”, let’s try something like “My blood flows through my arteries and veins freely, easily, and effortlessly”. See how that was completely positive, and actually said what the person wanted, and not what they don’t want? That’s what you have to do. Get away from thinking about what you don’t want because the more you focus on what you don’t want, the more you will get what you don’t want. Whether you want it or not, it’s what you are focused on that you will get. Let’s try another example. Say someone wants more money. Instead of saying “I want more money so that I can get out of debt” (see the negative on the end of that statement – debt?). Try something like “I have more than enough cash to provide me the services and goods that I want”. There, that’s completely positive and focuses entirely on what the person wants, instead of what they don’t want. Let’s try one more, just so that you have the idea down pat. Instead of “I feel great today… I’m not having any pain in my back” try “I feel great today… I can move my back freely and easily and have complete flexibility”. Bingo! Completely positive and focused on what the person wants.

I hope you’ve gotten the idea here. Take one thought, right now, that you have been thinking and take all negativity away from it and turn it totally positive. Focus on that positive statement. Give yourself a chance to succeed.

Do not fear success, fear failure. You can only fail if you let yourself. You are the creator of your life, so live well, my friends.

Telemedicine, Positive and Negative Aspects

Like any other form of science, telemedicine has its own advantages and disadvantages. However, telemedicine is a wonderful tool that can help some millions of people with varied health problems.

Some of the advantages of telemedicine are that it brings the worldwide expertise at your door step. There are several able doctors who are located across the world and most people do not get access to them because of the distance. Telemedicine can easily solve this problem. Also we are not capable of knowing all the medical problems and there are different kinds of diseases with different symptoms that can occur in anyone across the world. Exposure to such symptoms and diseases can become easy with the use of telemedicine and it allows the diagnosis period to be cut short. Telemedicine is also very helpful for military personnel who are stationed at remote areas.

The disadvantages of telemedicine are that it takes away the one on one interaction which is very beneficial in psychiatric consultations. It also gives birth to legal complications and the code of discretion with patient information may not be kept recluse in the telemedicine environment. The dangers of leaking out personal information are high and especially when it becomes available for everyone. Because of the lack of proper security, doctors will only be inviting more malpractice and legal law suits. Another risk is depending on the information provided by the telemedicine channel. Some of the information may be dependable and others might not be.

Another negative aspect of telemedicine is the cost. Many industry experts believe that it is more cost effective however the fact of the matter is that as of now it is very expensive. The usage of telemedicine depends on several outside factors that are not in the control of the medical industry nor the user itself. Limits on services that qualify for insurance coverage, state licensure laws, potential malpractice liability, and privacy and security concerns are just a few of the issues impacting telemedicine.

The federal laws related to insurance are much different and several of them do not agree or sometimes come in the way of usage of telemedicine. Unless all such loop holes are removed and an effective plan is put in place the effectiveness of telemedicine cannot be seen. Any system that is meant for a patient should be easy to use and it should not cause them trouble after having used it. Right now this is what is happening to the telemedicine industry exactly.

Also, the costs of telemedicine vary from one end of the spectrum to another and it makes it very unreliable as of now. Every single factor influencing the cost varies which makes it a highly unsteady technology to use. There are several factors like deductibles and co pays which have an overall impact on the total cost. If these vary and add exponentially without the patient having a clue, it gives a bad impression on the whole. Instead of starting to believe in it, people are actually losing faith. It also becomes very confusing to deal with such a concept eventually for the patients.

Positive and Negative Symptoms of Schizophrenia

People suffering from Schizophrenia will experience both positive and negative symptoms, typical characteristics of the mental disorder. This article seeks to discuss both symptoms in more detail.

Positive Symptoms

Positive symptoms define all symptoms which are more specific to Schizophrenic patients and are not normally experienced by healthy individuals. These signs point to losing touch with the real world. Positive symptoms can be either severe or mild which are unnoticeable by people around. Positive systems include delusions, illusions, hallucinations and having nebulous thinking.

Negative Symptoms

Negative symptoms define all symptoms that can occur in any healthy individual in response to certain emotional or physical setback. Negative symptoms are not blatantly noticeable and are hard to identify. Here is a list of the different negative Schizophrenia symptoms:

1. Dullness in the mood and voice of a person: The person may speak in a monotonous fashion without any expressions on the face or any movement of the face.

2. Depression and loss of pleasure in day to day life: The person loses interest in any activity, feels hopeless, helpless, miserable and pathetic, experiences guilt, and has constant self depreciation thoughts in his mind. Such a person does not feel enthusiastic or interested in anything in spite of rewards, recognitions or encouragement.

3. Lack concentration during the day to day activities: The person is not motivated, undergoes loss of enthusiasm and loses concentration in many activities.

4. Emotional imbalance and social withdrawal: The person experiences lack of emotion and loses connection with his loved ones. The person is unable to respond to any external emotional stimuli. He is likely to show emotions at the wrong time, for example, crying at a wedding and laughing at a funeral. He likes to spend time alone and will choose not to talk to anyone even when he is encouraged to do so.

5. Failure to articulate: When the frontal lobe of the brain is damaged, a Schizophrenia patient will not be able to communicate and process thoughts properly.

6. Incompetence in planning, organizing and following instructions: The person is unable to perform planning or organize things in an orderly manner. He will find it challenging to organize and express his thoughts when communicating to people. Hence it becomes very difficult for a normal individual to understand a Schizophrenic patient who sounds very confusing, illogical and unclear in certain situations. Schizophrenic patients can also face difficulty in following instructions to perform straightforward tasks.

7. Loss of appetite: The person has loss of appetite and does not feel like eating even if he has not had any food for long and his body requires it.

8. Lack of personal hygiene: The person becomes very lazy and seems like he cannot take care of himself. He even neglects his day to day tasks like bathing and maintaining personal hygiene.

9. Violent behaviors: Generally, this symptom is observed only in Schizophrenic patients who have been short tempered or who have committed crimes in the past. In cases of Schizophrenia patients, these violent behaviors worsen.

10. Talking about self destruction: The person might talk about committing suicide. When such incident happens, the patient must be taken seriously and medical attention is needed immediately.

Schizophrenia is a disabling mental condition that is extremely complicated and hard to understand. This disorder is affecting up to 2 million people in USA today. You can visit Clivir.com to find out more schizophrenia diagnosis and paranoid schizophrenia symptoms.

How Negative Ions Are Really Positive

By now, you have become a big fan of your water fountain. You not only appreciate the wonders it brings to your home- what with the relaxing and soothing mood it sets, the aesthetic value it adds to your foyer and lawn, the natural humidification it brings about your kid’s room, and being your pet’s favorite source of drinking water-your friends also rave about it!

There’s one more thing that would make you absolutely adoring to your water fountain- negative ions.

What are they?

The air is full with charged particles called ions. These are formed when electrons are ejected. This happens when energy reacts on molecules like water, oxygen or carbon dioxide .The dislodged electron affixes itself to a molecule which then becomes a negative ion. The original molecule, now without the electron, becomes a positive ion.

We have all experienced the effect of negative ions. Think of the time you were on a beach, or near a waterfall, high up the mountains, close to a pine forest, in the country. We feel better about ourselves and others, more alert and energized. Even in simple activities like taking a shower or turning your fountain on. Research has proven that negative ions are abundant when there is falling water. What flowing water does is split positive or neutral ions and create negative ions.

What negative ions do is help freshen the air in your home, lift your mood and relieve stress, amongst other benefits.

Freshen the air

They bring about clumping of allergens causing them to be heavy enough to be pulled down to the floor and be vacuumed, rather than being suspended in the air where they can be inhaled and cause allergic reactions. In other words, negative ions help eliminate dust, spores, pollens and other allergens floating in the air. This creates a better environment for your home or office.

Lift your Mood/ Relieve Stress

Some studies show that when negative ions reach our bloodstream, our serotonin level increases. This means that we feel happier and energized and our stress level decreases.

It is also important to point out that positive ions are undesirable. Breathing in positive ions decreases our energy and our over all health is compromised. It’s not easy to avoid positive ions as they are everywhere-indoors or outdoors. Household appliances- computers, TV, microwave ovens, refrigerators- emit positive ions. Outdoors, whenever warm, dry wind blows or when there is pollution (which is pretty much everywhere), there’s an abundance of positive ions.

That’s why having a water fountain is important. You have a constant supply of these healthy ions in your home or office. What that means are happier spouses and children, happier pets too! In the office, you not only get happier clients, you also get more efficient workers.

And then you prove for yourself that negative ions are really positive.

Turning A Negative Into A Positive

1. Be Prepared…
Let’s face it…you can please some of the people all the time, but you’ll never manage to please all of the people all the time.  There will be unhappy customers…that’s the way life is.  There’s not a lot you can do about it…or is there?  Being prepared to take a loss to keep a customer happy may seem like poor business sense at first glance, but think of it this way…if you make him happy today, he’ll reward your efforts by returning to your store time and time again.  Yep, taking a loss today, will pay off in the long run.

2. Be Ready with a “Quick Fix”…
Dissatisfaction multiplies at a rapid rate!  Have you ever complained and waited…and waited…and waited for someone to get back to you?  Yeah, the whole time you’re impatient and disgruntled the problem seems to grow bigger.  Let your unhappy customer know that you are getting right on the problem.  Even if it can’t be fixed immediately, he’ll know that it’s important and a high priority.

3. Be Professional…
One angry customer plus one angry salesman doesn’t add up to a great solution.  Forget about the mannerisms of the ticked customer, and keep your cool.  Often a professional and calm response will in turn calm and quiet the tirade of the unhappy customer.  And that my friend, is much more likely to get the results you are looking for.

4. Be Responsible…
Go ahead…take the responsibility for the problem…even if it wasn’t your fault.  Hey, an “I’m sorry,” goes a long way toward fixing the problem.  Once you’ve apologized for the inconvenience your customer has experienced, you can get down to the dirty business of fixing the problem. It never pays to fix the blame or make excuses. Customers see right through it, and respect honesty rather than excuses.  Keep your credibility intact with a simple apology.

5. Be Considerate…
Disgruntled customers often fear their complaints will be overlooked and overreact to get the attention they feel they deserve.  Let them be surprised with the sincere consideration you give to the problem, and watch their anger dissapate.  They’ll walk away from a possibly explosive situation with a pleasantly surprised attitude.  They’ll remember that much longer than the problem that brought them to you in the first place.

6. Be Confirming…
It pays to double check on the satisfaction of a one-time dissatisfied customer.  You may even want to reinforce a good relationship with them by offering a special discount on their next purchase!  Getting them back in the habit of shopping with you can only benefit your business in the long run.

7. Be  Attentive to the Cause of the Problem…
Once the customer has been pacified it’s time to get to the root of the problem.  Hey, chances are pretty good that others have been unhappy about the same problem, but haven’t vocalized a complaint…at least to you.  They may very well take the time to gripe to their friends!  Take the time to fix the cause of the problem to avoid similar complaints in the future.

Don’t let customer complaints get you down or cause you to lose future sales opportunities.  In a few minutes you can turn their frown upside down, and make loyal customers out of the most disgruntled.  It just takes keeping your head on your shoulders, and implementing these 7 steps to ensure positive results.
