Think Positive and Get rid of Negativity

Dear Readers,

Positive thinking is very important whether you are a business, manager, or employee. You will be slow if you think negative.

Last week I found myself listening to the TV news shows more than usual, reading newspaper articles I usually ignore, and listening to radio shows I don’t normally listen to.

It was a week where my mood was off and nothing seemed to work right. My behavior certainly affected my family, business and friends. What was I doing differently? What was making my energy spiral down? Why was I feeling so low?

You guessed it! It was the constant diet of negative news, negative articles and negative radio shows that had me in a place that did not feel good. I certainly wasn’t walking my talk last week and I’m admitting it to you.

When I realized what I was doing it was easy to revert back to my ole self. Watching my sons’ wrestling match and my daughters’ basketball game, watching great movies, reading positive articles in the paper (I LOVE my comics especially Zits, Family Circle and For Better or For Worse) and listening to CDs and mp3 files that sharpen my skills and help me stay positive, got me back on track. The key was shifting back into my gratitude routine.

What a difference it makes to appreciate and focus on what’s right with the world instead of what’s wrong with it. It certainly has improved my mood and those around me are much happier. I feel better, am more focused and ready to take on the world.

In regards to my business I’m clearer on what I want and what needs to be done to attract it. Geez, it feels good just writing it!!!

So, how can you shift from focusing on what’s wrong with your world to what’s right with it? It’s about appreciating the good things in your life.

Try this simple exercise. Take a piece of paper and fold it in half. On one side write down the first ten challenging things that pop into your head. On the right side write what you appreciate about each item. For example, on the left side you write “My boss drives me crazy!” On the right side you write “I’m grateful that I have a job.”

Once you’re finished writing, shift your attention to your chest and breathe deeply and slowly. Really focus on and appreciate those positive things you wrote. Relax your body with each breath and begin to feel the difference as little by little the stress begins to leave your body. If you can, go outside and take a walk and breathe in fresh air.

If you try this exercise, and it works for you, please let me know about it.

Sarah Breathnach said it best…

“When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present… We experience heaven on earth.”

To your positive success!

How to Think Positive ? The Power of Positive Thinking

If you want to know how to think positive, you probably aren’t that happy with your life. Maybe you worry a lot about yourself, the future, about your job. Or maybe you simply worry about anything!

The important thing here is that it’s your way of thinking that makes you feel uncertain and bad. You have to realize that how you feel depends on you – and only you. You could feel awesome right now, in this moment. There might be “problems” around you, but only as long as you see them as problems. Of course it’s helpful to identify problems, not to ignore them. But a lot of people are scared of any kind of problems, so the first thing they try to see in every new, unknown situation are the problems, the negative aspects. It’s obvious that you make your life unnecessary difficult and bad this way (as our thoughts shape our moods). This is called negative thinking.

So, the first step to positive thinking is to identify the way you are thinking. You need to recognize the destructive thoughts. Are you a pessimist type of person? Simply try to answer these questions:

1) In a bad situation, do you always expect the worst?

2) Imagine yourself in five years – are you scared?

3) If all your friends tell you about this great movie you simply have to see – you still have doubts?

4) Are your friends pessimistic?

5) Do you worry about things you can’t change?

6) If something good happens, do you think it happened by accident?

Now, if you have answered the most questions with “yes”, you definitely need to change your way of thinking. Here is a great technique to break the vicious circle of negative thinking: sit down for 15 minutes every day for some weeks and write down the thoughts that don’t let you sleep. Next, take a rational look at your notes. Are they true? Mostly there are not. Finally, you can rewrite them in a positive way.

Keep in mind: you don’t need to change yourself as a person. You need to change the way you think of things, the way you look at problems. This will not only improve the quality of your life but also attract other people – maybe even the mate of your dreams! For more information, take a look at this article:

Think Positive All the Time

Sometimes you may feel like the world is against you and no matter what you seem to do nothing ever comes out the way you want it to. With all the stresses and strains of life during what are now difficult times it is understandable that you might find it difficult to feel positive about things but why don’t you opt for a change and see what happens.

Bringing a little bit of positivity into your life is a good thing and can help get you out of your depressed state. If you think negatively the chances are that only negative things will happen to you. It’s very important that you make sure that you have time to yourself. Try to get yourself organized at home and make a list of the things that you have always wanted to do but have never got around to doing.

If you can’t stand clutter and feel that this is draining your positivity then make an effort to tackle this head on and rid yourself of things that you don’t really use anymore. At the office do the same with your desk and have a sort out of your inbox at work. A clearer mind will help you think positively.

Surrounding yourself with positivity will be great for your well-being so get out the photos that make you smile, frame them and hang them up where you will see them. If flowers or plants make you happy buy some or dedicate some time to your garden so that you can see them through your bedroom or kitchen window. If the rooms in your home are a little drab then why not invest in some brightly colored throws to cheer the place up?

Do you wake you wake up on a Monday morning dreading to go to work? Is there anything you can do to cheer up your routine? Why don’t you set your alarm so you can wake up to your favorite song? When your alarm goes off why don’t you try jumping out of bed on the first ring and don’t press snooze. Have your breakfast and spend a little more time on your appearance. You will feel a lot better about yourself if you do.

Have a clear out of your closet and take a look at things that you don’t really like or feel comfortable wearing and throw them out. Try to smarten up the way you dress if you think this will make you feel more confident and positive. Spend more time ironing your shirts and why not try wearing cufflinks to make a statement about yourself. Cufflinks are great accessories that can turn even the dullest suit into a success. Take a look at your ties, do you think wearing a brightly colored tie might make you feel more positive?

If it’s a rainy day try not to let it get you down, instead tackle it head on and invest in a fun and colorful umbrella that will brighten up your day as well as passersby. If you enjoy listening to music and it makes you feel happy they why not invest in an Ipod or another Mp3 player that you can listen to on your way to work.

Adam English invites you to take a look at the latest wedding cufflinks offered at Cufflinks.co.uk. Specialists in novelty cufflinks, men’s unique gifts and accessories – you’re certain to find something to your liking.
